I needed a new water line to my ice maker to replace the PEX one that was erroneously installed by my contractor some years ago. I explicitly needed the PEX line from under the sink replaced with copper. Well, he ran a new copper line by finding another water line to tap off of, but left the PEX line and the plastic valve under sink for me to remove. This is also an unnecessary weakness in the system since eventually the plastic valve will leak. He also argued with me at length that PEX lasts longer than copper. Given that our water is neutral with minimal contaminants and not especially acidic or basic, this is scientifically impossible. Over time all plastic materials leach plasticizers into water which causes them to become brittle. I've had great results from Klaus & Sons and will continue to use them but do not want this particular representative to work on our house again.
